By 2012, Räikkönen came back to the Formula 1 scene, driving for the Lotus team. However, his stay with Lotus team was marked by some serious issues. After non payment problems, he decided to go back and run for Ferrari again in 2014 as Fernando Alonso team mate. He ran for Ferrari for the next four years, scoring multiple wins for his team. However, after a few defeats and instructions to restrain himself in the races, Räikkönen failed to secure his spot in the team. In 2018, he joined Vettel, the team he actually keeps driving for.
